Excellent Book!

Book Title: Though Mountains Fall by Dale Cramer

This was a very well-written book. While many Amish books tend to be cliché and unrealistic, this one was very interesting. The plot was intriguing and captured my interest from the first page; I thoroughly enjoyed reading it, and I couldn’t put it down! I haven’t read the first two books in the series, but after reading this one, I definitely plan to. This was the best Amish book I have read in a very long time! I definitely recommend it.

Thank you to Bethany House Publishers for sending me a free copy of Though Mountains Fall in exchange for my honest review of it.

Fearless: My Review

Fearless is the story of a man named Adam Brown- and how he went from adventurous child to daredevil teen, from drug-addict adult to a man with a goal: becoming a Navy SEAL. Adam was described as fearless by everyone who knew him, and his courage and determination were fueled by his faith, his wife, and his family. This is his story. Fearless is the type of book that you will not soon forget. This is the kind of book everyone needs to read. Several years ago, my friend lent me the Christy Miller series by Robin Jones Gunn. I read them in an incredibly short amount of time and loved each one. I was thrilled to be able to get a copy of Volume 1, the first three books in the series, from Blogging for Books. These books were such an encouragement and a good example for me as a preteen. Throughout the whole series, there is a strong theme of the importance of following God, purity, influencing friends for Christ, and many other things which made the characters wonderful role models, while at the same time staying true-to-life. This series influenced me to make a lot of good decisions and because of that, I am so glad that I had the opportunity to read these books. I hope that reading this series will also influence many other preteen and teenage girls to live life for Christ. Reading the first three books in the series again years later was a breath of fresh air. I felt like I was reuniting with old friends! I have thoroughly enjoyed re-reading Volume 1 over the past few days. I recommend this book, as well as the rest of the series. The Christy Miller Collection, Volume 1, includes the first three books in the series- (1) Summer Promise, (2) A Whisper and a Wish, and (3) Yours Forever. Any description that I could write would not give the books justice! You simply must read them for yourself! :-) Thank you to WaterBrook Multnomah for giving me my free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review! A little book with a great message

I got this 2-in-1 book from Blogging for Books because it was the only print book available, and I didn’t really think it would be very interesting. However, I was excited to discover that is an incredible book. In the first book, The Radical Question, David Platt asks the question ‘How much is Jesus worth to you?’ and explains what total commitment to Jesus might look like in action. The second book, A Radical Idea, speaks about the need to reach out to people in our homes, not just in churches, and how equipping people to effectively witness in the community is more important than having a fancy church building and a great preacher. Bottom line: this book is a challenge to be more committed to serve God and to reach out to people. While the book is really small, there is a powerful message in it. I would recommend this book.

An incredibly good book!

While I had at first thought that this book might be kind of weird, there wasn’t much selection to choose from if I wanted a print book from the blogging program, so I ordered The Orphan King to read and review, and now am glad I did! This book piqued my interest from the first page and kept me eager to continue reading. Thomas, an orphan who doesn’t have a clue of what his family’s mysterious past is or the destiny he is to fulfill, escapes the corrupt monastery where he was raised and ends up on an urgent quest with three mysterious companions who may or may not be just what they seem: a knight, a pickpocket, and a mute and deaf girl. Can Thomas trust them? Are they allies or enemies? And what lies beyond the walls of the city Magnus? I just have to add, I really liked the bold, creative, ingenious main character Thomas- and mischievous young Tiny John, the pickpocket. All the characters were well-written and memorable, but those two were my favorites! I read this whole book in less than 24 hours and couldn’t put it down! (My mom and two of my siblings have also read it now, and they were hooked, too!) I am now eagerly anticipating the second book in the series, Fortress of Mist, which is coming out in February. To sum up, the author, Sigmund Brouwer, writes a captivating and unforgettable story. I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars because it was way more than just a good book. This book was outstanding! A big thank-you to WaterBrook Multnomah for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest revew!
